Kitten Wristlets are ALL. THE. RAGE! With its generous size (approximately 10" tall and 10" wide, seam to seam) and boxed corners, wristlets are roomy enough for valuables PLUS your WIPs.
Wristlets feature a zippered top and cotton webbing strap for ease in carrying. Kitten wristlets are made from a 1960s cotton blend quilt with a hand-stitched applique kitten in wonderful mid-century modern fabrics. The features on the kittens are hand embroidered. and the quilt itself is also hand stitched. The back of the wristlet is 10oz cotton duck, and the entire wristlet is lined in muslin.

Purpose in Repurposing
Everything I make at m.a.b.e.l takes time. I find and like to work with pre-1950s quilts because of their natural fibers and their designs that are so old they’re modern again. I work slowly to appreciate all the handwork and decisions that once created them. Every quilt is beautifully unique, and I love making it shine.
