Maker Caddies are the simplest of projects, and just like potato chips, it's hard to make just one!
Maker Caddy Kits are designed for the hobby sewist, to be made on a home sewing machine. No special skills are necessary, and all the pieces have been pre-selected and cut to size just for you! Maker Caddy Kits come packaged in a gift box.
Maker Caddy Kits will make 1 Large caddy, and include:
- one piece of vintage quilt cut to size
- one piece of 10oz cotton duck cut to size
- two cotton webbing handles cut to size
- Instructions (written & video)
The kits also include:
- 1 universal sewing needle (for thicker fabrics)
- a spool of coordinating thread suitable for bag making
- scrap quilt fabric for testing your machine and stitching practice
You will need: scissors, thread snips, marking pen, clips or pins, and a sewing machine.
Orders are shipped via USPS within 3 days.

Purpose in Repurposing
Everything I make at m.a.b.e.l takes time. I find and like to work with pre-1950s quilts because of their natural fibers and their designs that are so old they’re modern again. I work slowly to appreciate all the handwork and decisions that once created them. Every quilt is beautifully unique, and I love making it shine.
