Quilt Coat (Black Bowtie)

This jacket is modeled on the traditional barn jacket, and snaps closed with 4 antique brass snaps down the front, two patch pockets, and a hangtag. The front and neckline binding re-uses the vintage plaid lining from the original quilt. 

The original quilt is thick, but soft, and and has a little little drape. 

m.a.b.e.l’s coats are boxy with a drop shoulder, and hit at mid-hip (depending on your height).

What I love about this one: the BLACK! And how it plays against the solid colors. Plus the signature dating it to 1944.
