Simple totes FTW! There's really nothing better than the simple tote bag, right? Large enough for errands (or multiple WIPs), but not so large that it's too heavy to lug around. Each Simple Tote is a different size, to take advantage of the original quilt's pattern.
This Simple Tote was cut and sewn from a well-loved yellow and pink heart quilt; it's quite a unique pattern that I've not seen before. Some of the pink hearts are slightly tattered, but they've been reinforced and the entire tote is lined, so they're good to go! Each tote is lined in a 10oz canvas and has an internal pocket.
The Pink & Yellow Heart Simple Totes measure 17" seam to seam and 12" tall. They are 5" deep and the handles have a 13.5" drop.

Everything I make at m.a.b.e.l takes time. I find and like to work with pre-1950s quilts because of their natural fibers and their designs that are so old they’re modern again. I work slowly to appreciate all the handwork and decisions that once created them. Every quilt is beautifully unique, and I love making it shine.
