Sunbonnet Sue Resist (Red Plaid)

Ok, I'll admit it...Sunbonnet Sue's are NOT my fave.  Even with their super cute dresses (sometimes in feedsack), they come off slightly twee.  So when one of these appeared as a Plus 1  with a quilt that I actually had ordered, I was flummoxed.  Until I spread it out and realized that these Sunbonnet Sues were quite 'handmaid-esque.' 

I reached out to a complete stranger (Diana @tinypricksproject) and asked if she'd be willing to embroider the word "resist" on their bonnets.  And voila, my Sunbonnet Sues are taking action!

Sunbonnet Sue drawstring bags (approximately 9" x 9") are prefect for your notions, small projects, or for make-up and toiletries. They are backed with 10oz canvas and fully lined in muslin.  The drawstring is 3mm macrame cording.  Their dresses range from 30s solids and feedsacks to 50s plaids.  Their bonnets have blue embroidery and each is embroidered with black floss.  The word "resist" was embroidered by hand by Diana at the Tiny Pricks Project in a lowercase typewriter font.  

$25 from the sale of each Sunbonnet Sue will be donated to the 5 Calls Project.  It's incredibly important to me that everyone know how to get in touch with their elected representatives on the state and federal level.
