Just in time for fall--a cozy topper!
A basic boucle baseball cap, made less basic. I took the plain brim and swapped it for a scrap of vintage quilt — so no two are exactly alike.
Soft, textured crown up top; a small piece of quilting history down front.
The cap has an adjustable back tab (also fleece), Made from faux-fleece, the cap is warm enough to cut the chilliest of winter winds, yet cool enough for apple picking, holiday markets, and ice skating.

Purpose in Repurposing
Everything I make at m.a.b.e.l takes time. I find and like to work with pre-1950s quilts because of their natural fibers and their designs that are so old they’re modern again. I work slowly to appreciate all the handwork and decisions that once created them. Every quilt is beautifully unique, and I love making it shine.
